The first natural-refrigerant based solution ever developed for marine container shipping, the NaturaLINE^® unit delivers an environmentally sustainable alternative for refrigerated marine transport. Just as our PrimeLINE^® unit raised the bar for energy efficiency, the NaturaLINE unit sets a new standard for sustainability. By using carbon dioxide (CO₂) as a natural refrigerant, the NaturaLINE design reduces the impact on environment caused by refrigerant leakage or end of life recovery compared to units using synthetic refrigerant.

When developing the NaturaLINE® unit, Carrier Transicold kept the need to make it easy for shipping lines to transition from refrigerated containers using synthetic refrigerants to those using carbon dioxide (CO2) in the forefront.

The NaturaLINE unit is as easy to operate and service as all other Carrier Transicold container refrigeration units,
which are considered to be industry standard. While the NaturaLINE system incorporates new technologies to optimize refrigerant performance, the basic frame, evaporator fans and the controller are based on proven Carrier Transicold models.

Operators familiar with other Carrier Transicold units will find no difference in setting up and managing refrigeration
parameters for the NaturaLINE unit. It features the easyto-use Micro-Link® 3 controller, the same system used on other Carrier Transicold container models from today’s ThinLINE® units through standard PrimeLINE® units.

The Cleveron 501 is an innovative automated grocery kiosk, built on a refrigerated container platform, that maintains contents at fresh and frozen setpoints using a Carrier Transicold NaturaLINE® refrigeration unit, visible (on right) during installation. The NaturaLINE system is the only container refrigeration unit to use a natural refrigerant with an ultra-low global warming potential and is recognized for its efficient operation, giving it tremendous appeal to retailers looking to minimize their carbon footprint.

Designed for sustainability as well as energy efficiency, the NaturaLINE unit offers exceptionally tight temperature control, owing to a variable-speed drive (VSD) that electronically adjusts compressor speed to provide the precise amount of cooling capacity as needed. It is also noted for being significantly quieter than other units in Carrier Transicold’s portfolio when operating in typical low-speed mode.

Long Beach Off-Coast Depot NaturaLINE units are currently being assembled at Carrier Transicold’s world-class container refrigeration facility in Singapore and will be placed onto 40-foot high-cube boxes. This NaturaLINE unit acquisition follows Seaco’s orders earlier this year for 100 Carrier Transicold PrimeLINE units.

NaturaLINE^® means new technology
